There is a beauty in the distance
Like a fire within a powdered blue sea
It seems like an act of resistance
To the darkness that desires to be
It paints the sky with beauty
And fills my soul with tranquility
It ends the day as its filial duty
To the morning that use to be
It is the last hope of a dying day
A testament to its maturity
Just like a child kneeled down to pray
It offers hope to futurity
It changes hue
As if to bid adieu
And say I fought the good fight
Then it sinks away
Beneath the view
And surrenders unto the night
