What Shall I Wear?

Too tight...
Too heavy...
Too rough...
Too dark...

Where are gossamer wings to enfold
tiny, fragile
Angel Baby?

All my garments are
too dark...
too heavy...
too tight...
too rough.

What raiment of Light
is there for
delicate, fragile
Angel Baby?

Where is fabric of celestial covering
Light enough,
soft enough,
Loose enough...
Smooth enough...
Allowing Angel Baby
freedom to live
and move, and have her Being?

Don't tell me
I am Light Being
When all I have to wear
is too dark,
too tight,
too rough, too heavy.

Mother, Give me a
new garment please.
Soft enough...
Loose enough...
Smooth enough...
Light enough for Angel Baby
to live and move, and have
her Being.

Swaddle me in gentleness,
humility, kindness and forgiveness,
patience, self-control
gentleness and perseverance.

Let these be the wrappings for
this new, fragile, Angel Baby.

Diane M. Wagner Nov. 2002

This poem was written after a deep inner healing workshop during which someone informed me I was a real angel. After returning home I searched my closet and couldn't find anything comfortable enough to wear. I felt fragile and vulnerable, and everything I put on was constricting and rough. I was in a very deep place within and decided to put into words what I was feeling.

Diane

I enjoyed your words. Your words. Thanks for sharing............

Jog through an August rain, allowing the wetness warm you,
Trudge through a snow filled forest, letting the air exhilarate you,
Walk through the blackest night, forbidding the darkness to envelope you,
Bathe in The Son so that the bright light enfolds you,
And be your garments will never be too dark, too tight, too rough, too heavy.

Diane, you put it into words very well. Myself, I probably would have been looking for a pitchfork. Just the opposite of Angel Baby. I haven't been an Angel since I was a baby. And you are indeed an Angel.
Me I am a work in progress not making too much headway. Welcome to the Den again.
Will look for your work as you post. Bill Murray

This is so delicate and your sensitivity really shows through...so much that I'll bet those dark, rough, heavy garments 'glowed with your inner light' when you put them on. Thank you for sharing. This is nice.

Hi Diane,
Forgot to mention that if you load more than one poem in a day, only the most recent can be seen on the list--don't you Know I love this one, though--too cool to be sharing this experience. Vicky

Intuitively, I know I've lived many lifetimes, and none more interesting than the one I'm living now. However, being born an old soul somehow did not excuse me from the same job I share with you and that is learning to craft a positive attitude about
