~   Nature of the Beast   ~

A newborn Dove sits atop my veranda
Alone… no parents in sight
It sits there for a very long time
The ocean breeze is blowing inland
I see tiny feathers ruffle in the cool air.

I watched the poorly structured nest
Built in traditional Dove location
Low branches, little nooks in houses
Seems like always too close to the ground
Trusting humans to come to close to peek

Worried the eggs were taking too long to hatch
I spoke softly, like in a babies nursery
Cooing gentle words of love and adoration
Now a Baby Dove is alone and I’m afraid
As though it were my very own offspring.

I’m growing frantic to rescue Baby Dove
I contemplate… “perhaps it’s not for me to do
Mother Nature has accomplished miracles”
Just then Baby Dove raises himself in flight
I shan’t ever again, question her expertise.

Very beautiful Bonnie. The hatchling is now the bird of flight. Very touching moments here too. Thnx sis for your deeply caring heart, to want to be there for that little sparrow. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your sid constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

"If I have to be this girl in me, Then I may as well be."

ps: I had to quit my job cause it almost gave me another heart attack.

And you shouldn't question what nature is about. Mankind could learn a lot about life and death from nature. But, of course, God gave mankind a thinking and reasoning brain which unfortunetly doesn't always think nor reason. Still, we are a part of natures evolution, so we matter too. Good poem.
