I see myself at thirty
still running to get things done
the fact is I can't seem to finish
or remember what I've done.
How did I get this old without a clue
I'm in a time warp
and I don't know what to do.
If only I had mapquest
to follow all the signs
so I could back it up
and rewind one more time.

The clothes in my closet
seem two sizes to small
and I just wore them last week
or maybe it was last fall.
My shoes are scuffed
and there still brand new
who was in my closet
and switching all my shoes,
how they got past the dog
I haven't got a clue.

How did it get so far
to the bathroom up the stairs
where I look in the mirror
at the face I see there.
Who could this old face
belong to in my mirror
it isn't mine
I think I need a beer.

I'm in a time warp
and time has past me by
so much I can't remember
I could just sit down and cry
and I can't seem to figure out
what I'm gonna do
with this thirty year old woman
living in my body
and walking in my scuffed up shoes.
