A Place to Share
by John Herlihy
Some places feel like nothing else matters,
A place to go when your life lies in tatters.
A place so far secluded no one else knows,
The freshness of the air smelling as a rose.
Panoramic beauty striking flint in the soul,
A calm serenity that Mother Nature stole.
Offering an intimacy nothing else fathoms,
Drawn out of depths of deep-sea fathoms.
A place now drawn in so reluctant to leave,
Silence and birdsong woven into its weave.
A haven I found where I can always come,
To rest in seclusion that my heart has won.
In this place of solitude one can see forever
A place where loving hears will never sever
The only thing missing - someone else there,
With a loved one this beloved place to share.

But, because they were so beautiful and so remote, there was rarely anyone else there. And when I came there I had no one with me to share it with. Only, if I was lucky, a picture I took to show to someone much later.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about the same thing that I have experienced.
