Lost my mamma tonight

I hope it was easy I hope you had no fear. I hope your beliefs Kept your God near. I wish I had said Soothing words in your ears. To tell you you’re loved And hope that you’d hear. I hope you are holding Your two who went ahead. Who should never have gone first Leaving you to tread This world and this life Wondering if they had fear And wondering if in their deaths Your God was near. I hope you have peace And comfort and love And God took you home On the wings of a dove.

I'm sorry to be so late to respond. I just haven't been looking at poetry lately, engrossed with other things.

Your quiet sendoff to your mother is very beautiful and touching. I'm glad that you were able to write this poem in her honor.
