Was it only yesterday that we laughed and played?
Two naïve high school girls acting silly
Doing Chinese fire drills with our friends
Hanging out at the local pizza joint
Holding hands and hugging when we met
Screaming hello’s to each other down the halls,
during the hustle and bustle of changing classes.
27 years have passed since last we touched,
and yet we have cheated time my friend.
27 years later two women again acting silly,
still hugging each other when we meet
memories intact, yesterday not forgotten
we laugh and reminisce again.
We are only as old as yesterday
and still as new as tomorrow

Forever friends

No matter what the distance,
no matter what the time has been
We touch each other’s hearts today
as we did yesterday
and nothing has changed!

I have been so blessed in my life to have so many of my true friends from my high school years. Not many of us have kept people in our lives as friends for 30 years or more.
