I’d been on the road for 12 long weeks
and returned to a house festooned with leaks.

Bone-weary I slumped over the bed,
incessant drops plopping on to my head. 

Damn it, I thought, this is a bummer
and picked up the phone to call for a plumber. 

The man who appeared on my front stoop was so divine—I was thrown for a loop.

My heart throbbed like a turbocharged motor the instant he took out his almighty rotor. 

Plunging right in, he unclogged every pipe—his timing, perfection, and I was so ripe.

He plumbed the depths to my very soul
then manfully plugged each open hole.

Fondly I watched as he mounted his scooter, this chivalrous knight with his own rotor-rooter.
