There is never a cross word with us
she is honest frank and a bit biting
We're too disparate to argue and
debate is okay as far as it goes
A former teacher and widowed
well beyond trying to reform me
A lonely one using discussion
to delay a visitor a few minutes
I love being with her for an hour
before her abrasive ways wear thin
My adieu is kind quick and final
not waiting to lose my reserve
I can't tell her off spoiling our future
one shows respect for one's mother
I like the honesty of this write, I lost my own sweet mother when I was only 25 and think of her often, I even wonder what she would have thought of my successes, failures, life style etc if she had lived. You are a lucky man to have a mother so full of life and living and your love of her even ignoring the duration of your visits shines through.
