What Santa Did
On this Christmas Eve night,
the children wait for the sight.
They listen at the door,
in their bedroom they sleep no more.
The night does not stop.
They wait for a sound on the rooftop.
It’ll be made by Santa’s reindeer hooves.
Then they hear something that moved.
Santa has arrived with all of the goodies!
They sneak down the stairs,
only in their undies.
But they are shocked by what they see.
Santa’s cheeks are as red as beets.
It surely is not from the cold.
In his hand a bottle he holds.
He is at the bar with all the booze.
It is the scotch that he did choose.
With his head tilted back,
he guzzles like an old hack.
Then he burps a loud belch,
from his stomach he can’t squelch.
He wipes his mouth on his sleeve,
but suddenly he cannot leave.
That’s because on his feet he wobbles.
Then his head teeters in a bobble.
And wouldn’t you guess,
he goes down in a drunken mess.
No Ho, Ho, Ho, on this Christmas night.
Oh my, God, what a sight.
