It's Saturday today as I look out my window. The beach is quiet for he knows this is my favorite place. This is where he promised to take me before time was erased.
Ha! Ha! That's funny, I was just remembering everything that he promised me, that he told me. He would always be there. He said we would have children and that he would always care. But what should I do without him? I walked down the side steps which brought me to the water. The sky was a different color than it had been the day before. I could see it reflecting on the water. I could still feel him inside of me. (I don't know maybe I'll never be able to erase it.)
The baby is kicking so frantically inside of me. I wondered how he would react to this. He loves children and I was supposed to have his and we were supposed to live happily ever after.
We talk and laugh of things and how they are going to be. How he'll cook and I'll do the dishes. He wants me to carry his name. We agree how he will take care of me and we talk where we will stay, somewhere high in the forest where no one can bother us. He wants no one around so we can spend all of our days. He wants no one to hurt me. He is not even going to tell anyone where we are. He says that he will put wire fences around us so that the animals won't get too far. And he promised to kill the bugs because I'm scared. I tell him how I will hold him and never look back but just to wave good-bye to the horrible past.
It is quiet and dark now, we are all alone, the crickets are still chirping yet it is almost dawn. Oh, how I love being up here with you, the rivers run so deep and wide. I think I have something to tell you, it is a big surprise. We will carry your name forever, that I will always protect, for I am going to have your son, someone that no one will ever reject.

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
