just an observation

Oh, I am a poet
Don't you know it
I can rhyme
On the drop of a dime

But do I really wax poetic
Or do I cop out
To use my clout
To spout an opinion ever so erratic

When I shake a little advice
Clad in wordy disguise
From that Thinking Tree
Is that truly poetry?

There ought to be words
Like none you ever use or see
Unless you devour a dictionary --
There ought to be words!

Ah yes, I ought to use a lot of
Words ending in 'xxtion'
So you may consider the ramification
Now please don't boff

At the notion for when the fountain
Of words overflows
And my posted poem grows
To magnificent proportion

Like a snow-capped mountain
Standing tall against the hot wind's nip
--oops, I had better bite my lip--
Then I must be a poet?

OK, now when you're done expressing
Your admiration at this wordy creation
Then stop to think:
How many of these words were needed

To make me see...

Oh, Sometimes eloquently expressed, lavishly thought-out poems, put out by a fevered mind, amount to only a rave or a rant...are these more valid for being clad in verbosity and for being delivered with a good deal of drama?

And...aren't they fun to read, too? ;)
