Mid-week Blues
By: Felix L. Perry
Shadow whispers, through the still of night
Cloaked in jagged shades of dark and gray
I survived another sleepless dusk to dawn
Stumbling into a repeat make-believe day
Mirror, mirror, on the wall, please don’t lie
I’ll pretend that I believe what you may say
Fearing shattered glass comes with a curse
Haggard years look at me in a pitying way
Tea over-steeped, I burnt the toast again
Talking head voice says expect rain today
No rainbow skies, no balmy summer breeze
It’s true , you get back what you pay…
for beauty and truth. You would be such a welcome asset to
our little group, when you are ready we are waiting for you
with open arms, Santa, take care, Have a Blessed Easter
with peace , love, and mirrored reflections of exuberance
and gratefulness of spirit and soul. P)
