I have lived for many years little one

And there is much I have to teach you.

Don’t pull my tail,

It’s rather fragile.

Please don’t put it in your mouth either

I tend to get chapped tail.

Just pet my head…gently,

No bobbing please,

It gives me a neck ache.

You can rub my tummy,

It makes me sleepy.

Now, now little one

Don’t bite my ears,

Now you’re drooling in them.

Can’t you just hold me close?

So I can hear your heart beat,

So I can feel your warmth?

There are so many things I have to teach

But I will be patient young one

Because you have a long time to grow up
