Poem Artwork

The name is Gumby
Darth Gumby
No longer seeking truth of prose
this darker rhyme I do compose

Stuck between the spiral spires
avoiding all the hellish fires
Walks a boy with clay of green
or is it just a molded sheen

Be it one or maybe the other
really doesn’t even matter
life is gray with shades of black
colors appear only with crack

Rainbows are a child’s toy
granting only temporary joy
no more can you hear the dolphins sing
or see the glow from  Centauri’s ring

planets align into phase
setting forth a general malaise
what was once a skip and dance
has turned into happenstance

I question all there is of fate
Casting me as a reprobate
Maybe one day the light will shine
Letting me escape this evil shrine

But for now I eat the crusty bread
Cursing thoughts inside my head
