In the heat of summer he wipes his brow
Thinking I would really like a nice iced tea
But like all wants he can exclude this from thought
What I really need is water to fulfill the body’s demand
Without it I would surely wither and die
Yes need and want are certainly strange bedfellows
and sometimes we do not know the difference
the Spirit is just as needy as the body
It sipped just a short time ago
and felt the joy of being renewed and refreshed
but now it begins to feel the wither again
calling it to death once more
I can surely relate to this Edward, and you delineate the differences nicely, a universal challenge. The Spirit is too often neglected to satiate the flesh.
