.

The chronic pain has moved beyond tolerance
surgery is coming soon if the choice is made
and In that quiet time of reflection
Visions float endless over a sea of rushing waves
crashing thought and swirling memories in the riptides
Pulling all that matters into the depth of darkness
one stroke two is all there is for survivals sake
Is anybody out there
Can they hear the voice through the gurgling
of lungs filling with water

No he answered between gasps
as he waited for the Vitascope to play
Not sure where he heard it before
but something is suppose to flash by
before the last breath
a re-visitation of all that was
showing either a meaningful or meaningless existence
Maybe it is only shown to the redeemable
and that is why his screen is blank

It was this premise that scared him the most
it meant there would be no realm of spirit
where the soul could meet with others long past
and most importantly rejoin with souls
who would come in the future
No chance for a Him and Her

He clutched the picture of her to his chest
vowing that the screen will not be blank
instead it would be filled with her face
it now no longer mattered if he was met by the angels
because he had his angel with him
and her face would be his last smile

Another masterpiece write from you, Ed. This write is like an introspection that rakes out the debris in our soul as remembered by our heart.

Excellent and moving.
One of those introspective type
writes that will stay with me all day.
Being Christian all my life,
well ... since I was six, I refuse
to doubt that Christ is real, that heaven
is real, and that the work He accomplished
for His creation is more real than I could ever
imagine. Blessings ...
