There is an endless conflict in Somalia for the past 17 years since the destruction of the central government in 1991. The country is in dire need of peace for the people, reconstruction for the land and revival of the economy. Three Levels on intervention: Micro (individual) Mezzo (group) and Macro (organizations & Communities) are necessary for the restoration of peace and stability in Somalia. At the individual level, many Somalis suffer from post-traumatic stress, depression, and grievances; sleep deprivation, disillusionment and lack of control on one’s destiny. At the community level, Somali communities face many problems resulting from the lack of the basic social services and the destruction of all social institutions in the country. This poem is a summary of what the country needs to get rid of the current mess. The grassroots approach is utilized in this starting with the individual and going up to the national level. It discusses the individual and community needs for intervention. The national intervention needs will be discussed in my future writings:
