Life in 2020 was surreal. Everything we'd hoped and expected - didn't, couldn't happen.
Waiting for it to be over
Waiting for the day they say the words
Longing for that first fresh breath of freedom

The life on pause
looking forward to the time when...
reaching out to touch... emptiness
The arms encircled embracing - air
growing spaces dark and lonely
deep within our souls
The life postponed
Celebrate my milestone – without me
I can’t be there for you – child
I just want you with me – parent
Disconnect to reconnect – on line
The life … surcease
At the turn of the decade no one expected our world to be turning not only around, but turned on its side and upside down. Looking back in twenty-twenty hindsight, we should have known it would happen this way.
We have got this far, and look back to those early, so scary days...
Here in the UK on Monday we can have two households together
inside our homes...and hugs are allowed..!
We don’t know how precious things are until they are withdrawn from us...
It was a time of reflection for many of us, and the world will never be exactly
the same again...

No one can predict a virus. They become occasionally into our lives and we have to deal with them one way or another. Thankfully, in the modern era we have actually began to come up with cures, vaccinations that would actually eliminate the possibility of the virus surviving.
Yes, life will pause, but in the future, perhaps less than a year like this one has caused. Much better than letting it run pandemic throughout the world and kill at will until everyone left is immune from having had it.
