This one is in fun. It was written to make my dad laugh and it's about me, my brother and his best friend T-Boy in South Louisiana way back when......

 

Now Tee-Boy stole some shrimps one day
and no one would have knew,
excepting Bubba found him out
but how, I had no clue.

So me I took it on my own
to search the whole thing out,
and set my eye upon the one
what shouted the first shout.

Since Bubba was the first to say
the gumbo should have had,
a lot more shrimps that what we ate,
(and sha’ was Bubba mad),

I watched him close and notice when
he snooped around the room
and waited till pawpaw was gone
afore he spread his gloom.

So me I asked my pawpaw Jim
just what he seen that day,
or if he seen nare anything
what seemed out of the way.

My pawpaw Jim he rightly knew
a lot about the whole,
and said he saw when Bubba snuck
behind the bedroom door.

Be sure I knew what happened then
and boy was Bubba sore—
especial when I found that rice
smushed on the bedroom floor.

So me I solved the mystery
and Tee-Boy told me true
he’d felt ashamed to be the one
what stole them shrimp or two.

And me I rightly stood a proud
cause ain’t a soul what knew
them boys they weren’t the only ones
a dipping from the stew.
