Beyond my dreams do shadows creep
And I but watch each timid step
As though I could their distance keep
Their intrusion to not accept.
I hear but refuse to listen

And to the light I do bequeath
My dreams, my life, my tomorrow
My joy, my faith, all my sorrow
For only then, do I begin
To live and grow and to believe
That I can find myself again
To smile, to sigh, and yes, to breathe
There is a deep, sorrowful tone to this sonnet. As though something is lost or missing in your life requiring you to dig deep in your subconscious to try to find hope. Perhaps it is your creeping blindness or coming death that is the footsteps in the shadows of your dreams.
I had a wonderful dream this morning that was interrupted by my helper stirring and, perhaps, my need to urinate. I certainly do hope that you will have sweet dreams like that, and even better, that some form of miracle cure will give you a few more years of wild, colorful vision in high resolution and 3-D, like mine. On the other hand, my hearing is becoming quite tinny, and I'm afraid, in ten years or so, that even a hearing aid will not help me understand conversation.
