Have not shared anything in awhile so here goes...

Dancing Leaves

I watch leaves of Autumn circle and dance
Before the Bards of coming winter,
Content in their time remaining,
Completely secure in the complacency
Of the spilled ink, the random thoughts
Carpeting the paths of their journey.
The Bards have spoken their words....
'If you feel the comfort we offer, it's because
You are comfortable with whom you are.
If you feel the sincerity of heart, it's because
You are sincere in your own right.
If you feel the spirit of time, it's because
You are accepting of its passage.
And if you feel the rushing wind,
Calling it friend, it's because you are
Assured that from whence you have come,
So shall you return.'

I cannot help but wonder...

if only we could
be more like those dancing leaves!

An apt, timely, and meaningful write that awakens thoughts and emotions, Myrna. About a year ago or so I posted a poem called "Dance of the Autumn Leaves" after witnessing a whirlygig of them in my driveway. I even made a video which is on YouTube:

I think many of us are in tune with the dancing leaves as they swirl into the last waltz, so do we accept the waltz as a door opening or a door closing.
