a searching soul, and she acquiesces to their
insistent though quiet calling.
A poet looks to the skies to seek the sentences written there, the thoughts scattered across clouds and dancing with stars.
A poet lays bare her vulnerability and exposes
the questions of the heart. She allows her pen
to bleed its ink of creativity.
A poet will write of her own perceptions but also
of those gleaned from the words which visit her
and she will paint images in the colors of the moment.
A poet will understand that the reader of her wordswill interpret as they will for they know not her thoughts, but only their own.
A poet will express, will imagine, will believe
in that which she writes...
because she must.
A poet has no other choice.

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
