Wasted
Forgotten dreams, like scattered driftwood, lay
Upon the sandy shores of wasted time
Amid debris left strewn, deceitful mime
Of bitter truths exposed in bleak display.
Discarded pasts clothed now in somber gray,
Unspoken thoughts and words of silent rhyme
Echoing in misery's paradigm,
Losing themselves in overused cliches.
Clinging to despair, static memories,
Lost yesterdays, shadows lingering still
To moments gone in time's escaping breath,
Mourning dreams, weeping false realities
Of shattered faith, bleeding, dying, until
Time reclaims them, wasted, in needless death.
