a view of a chest given years before

I step out onto the cold floor,
I have just risen from my bed,
I look around the room,
I see the chest that my mother gave me so long ago,

I look closer,
Seeing the design I had never noticed,
I marveled at the thought of all the work that went into it,
Oh how long it took I thought,

Oh how splendid this is I exclaimed,
Wondering how long it actually took,
To create such a masterpiece,
To me it's the perfect chest.
