'YOUNG LOVE' THAT WEATHERS THE STORMS OF LIFE, TO WITHSTAND THE TUMULTS AND STRIFE AND WHOSE FIBERS 'KNIT' AND THROUGH THE YEARS GROW TOGETHER...INDEED, THIS KIND OF LOVE SUBSTANTIATES, WITHOUT JEST THAT 'OLD LOVE', IS THE BEST. I WAS NOT BLESSED TO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS KIND OF LOVE WITH ANOTHER HUMAN BEING BUT THANK GOD, HE RESCUED ME IN TIME AND HIS OLD, ETERNAL AND SURE LOVE IS EVER MINE. Like old shoes, love grows more comfortable with age. I'm finally experiencing that myself, and your family is a good example of the truth of the matter. I recall my parents 62 years together. Marrying just as the world was at war, practically on a whim, and then finding out how economically difficult marriage was with twin babies to take care of. I recall all the arguments, mostly about money in those young turbulent years. Later, it was about sharing duties in the household after my father retired. They changed and became very much partners in life, doing nearly everything together.

Love starts out a lust,, but as it matures, it becomes stronger, and like I tell my kids, it takes a lot of work to make a relationship work, My wife and I have been married for almost 38 years now, and it may now be an old love, but it's still work, but it's worth it. Old love rocks.

I love your image of "old love" vs. young love and it is so true. Old love "is secure love, steadied by the years." Each type of love has its own unique quality that you describe beautifully here.

PS: your picture posted here strikes an uncanny resemblance to my sister, Mary. It's quite unbelievable.

There is so much wisdom in this poem about enduring love.
I almost feel sorry for those who have not experienced it.
Add our loving God to the mix and you have a winning combination.
One that will take you to an eternal love straight to Heaven.
