Advice to my granddaughters. All five of them. Really there are seven but two have already made the grade.

For those with beauty rich and rare,

Your face is lovely but have a care,

Note a flower blooms and fades.

Gain some wisdom. Get good grades.

Go the distance, don’t get lost,

Do the hard yards, pay the cost.

If your face is your fortune you’re in trouble today.

Because my darlings, you pay your own way.

Beautiful lass all
you were graced by the lord
for such beautiful grandchildren,
I have 8 myself, 5 granddaughters
and three grandsons, I too feel blessed
I've written several pieces about them
Peace be with you

This is very true. I've known ladies who were beautiful when I was too small to notice but now that I am old enough to, there isn't much remaining to notice. With that beauty and that sweetness of once being their only capital, old age turned them beggars. But there is too less awareness of this in those who are beautiful today, isn't there? On the other hand, life is made permament by the instrument of ephemerality and there is nothing that lasts forever, so life uses what it has when it has it, and however strong our awareness, however high our grades, one day we cease whether we want it or not. Everything simple is very complex.

Joyce,
Excellent advice. Beauty and brains are an excellent choice.
