A just for fun. I've been away so long from AD that I hope you forgive me, and read this anyway.

This is a poem my Daddy said,

he used it often to clear his head.

He said it when he mopped the floor.

He said it when he went to the store.

He used it when Mom got too mad.

He used it when she got too glad.

It goes ashes to ashes,

dust to dust,

you must drink water

or your pipes will rust,

and if your pipes are rusted,

your rear is busted,

ashes to ashes,

dust to dust.

But it isn’t in the Bible,

not verbatim anyway,

might be allegory,

but I really couldn’t say.

You see Daddy was a poet,

and he never did know it,
always liked those poetic clichés,
never failed for a kid to amaze,

you know little fun here and there,

better stop before you beware

of ever reading this stuff again,

friend.

I must say that I am impressed that you were able to rhyme anything with "cliches"!! Your poem made me smile. Hope all is well in your world.

Thank God for humour, and yours, which you so readily and whistfully share, it sure brightens an otherwise dour day, thanks Jerry!
