I've always understood it to demonstrate the depth of despair Christ experienced on the cross, as if dieing wasn't enough, but to be separated from his Father for the first time was to experience the weight of the world's sin upon his body and mind. In addition, God is not able to look upon sin, only the sinner, and especially the sinner saved by grace.

Richard, This is such a wonderful rememberance of her.You really capture her spirituality. I sent in a manuscript using her quotes and reflections for each quote, so, as you can guess I did alot of research. At times I felt she was right with me.She is a person I look up to. Thank you again.

Mother Teresa saw (and lived among) the dregs of humanity--helping, feeding, nursing, giving hope wherever there was none. That is where her saintliness lay: hers was a life not caught up in the spotlight of beauty, rather she delved by choice into dark, filthy, lice-ridden, unimaginable places with no beauty at all. And there she thrived, a symbol of what is really beautiful about being human.

A Saint, she most definetly was. She took hearts that had turn to stone and gave them faith. She gave love where fear had taken it away. She took sufferage and gave back humanity...A Saint she will be for eternity.

Nothing like reading and remembering the raw truth and true meaning of life. Takes you out of your self absorbed pity-party world to think to yourself that our suffering is so small compared to the sufferings of others. God gave us three wonderful tools:
1.The power of creation. We can project and create whatever we want to fulfill the creation we received
2. The power of love and the will to maintain and complete whatever we have created
3. The faith in our heart .
Those three powers, God has given to Mother Theresa. The more you fulfill the more you will receive without interruption.

Without a doubt, Mother Teresa touched more souls with true love and kindness than anyone on earth in her time. Poet Richard Lee Orey captured the life of Mother Teresa in spinning a wonderful tribute to all her goodness. May she rest in peace.
...have been on vacation and in just returning to the den tonight, I decided, out of many, that I would choose to read, Richard Orey. . .
This is a wonderful tribute, to one very spiritually fullfilled woman, who, having lived my life knowing her, I have grown to understand her purpose and respect, even more, the authority from where it came. Because of her existence here on earth...I am a better person...

I am so very happy to see this remarkable poem here on the Den. I know I'm in the right place. A worthy and fitting tribute to a true modern day saint.
Richard this poem is outstandingly beautiful and ever heart touching. As a lover, admirer I looked up to Mother Teresa what a giving saint. I feel she and her works are a part of my consciousness and not afraid to say so. She paved the way and was a living legacy and example of disciples.

Her memory is being undermined now because of the things she wrote about her faith, or lack of it.
Many of God's children have questioned Him. What about Job, who was thrown for a loop by his terrible calamities?
David wrote some of the psalms questioning God. God values sincerity, and wants truth from His followers.
Those who follow the Lord are also under greater attack by Satan and his cohorts, who try to fill the mind with doubts. One who gives her all is a handy target, especially if she is hungry and overworked, which is how I picture Mother Teresa.
It's too bad that the media try to undermine her value because she questioned God.

A true saint despite she suffered from the darkness of the soul. All saints go through such a period. Hers was the longest. Yet she did what God wanted from her. She helped the least of God's children. Victor
Your tribute is inspiring. "For in doing His will as He has asked, Our heaven is just ahead." Simple words, yet a difficult task. As each of us aspires to go to heaven, it is important to remember to do "as He asked" Your words always fill me heart with you. Without a doubt, Richard, this is one of your best. You've characterized Mother Teresa with the qualities that made her one of the most saintly servants to mankind of our times. Calling her the "Angel of Mercy" is an apt description. We can only guess at the number of people she helped along her life's journey.
Incidentally ... I read this week, Richard, that Mother Teresa struggled with her faith in God. I was shaken by these confessions found in her notes and memoirs. Apparently it began when she began her work in Calcutta. And apparently, according to her own words, the peaceful presense of Gods Holy Spirit never came back. I found this perplexing to say the least.
A very simple truth, Richard. Daily meditation and a mind-adjuster, Mother Teresa's words should be embroidered in needlepoint on a Whitman Sampler with her likeness and framed for wall hanging. And your words need engraved on garden statuary in your rose garden where the Orey's hummingbird reminds us of such wisdom - thanks for watering our souls today...Blessed Be.
