Reader's Digest story of my life, in 100 words or less.

' ... What I am on the outside does not determine who I am on the inside. ...'

Poem Artwork

You wouldn't look at me unless
it was to STARE. You wouldn't
talk to me unless it was to tell
me HOW UGLY/FAT/STUPID I

WAS. You said, 'I was just
teasing,' as if that would make
everything alright. I still hear
the words. Still feel the pain ...

What I am on the outside does not
determine who I am on the inside.
I have overcome more than most
have. I am a survivor.  When my

parents were told that I would die,
I LIVED.  When told I would never
amount to anything, I PROVED
THEM WRONG.  So THERE.

I kind of disagree as I can look at you and still see beauty on the outside and then I have found throughout the years...that you are also beautiful on the inside. so there

It's who we are inside that counts. Of course, you know that already, Karla, but other folks don't seem to get it. My mother used to insult me when I was little, and some of those images stayed in my head growing up. Very damaging. I expect we all have someone in our lives who doesn't understand what their words can do. You are caring and special in my book.

You are a wonderful person. You survived adversities. God is for you.
His will was done. You are still here. You are here for a readon.
Don't let anyone make you feel less than Who You Really Are. A Child
Of God. Chosen and Gifted. You Are A Beautiful person. Never let
anyone tell you anything less. Forget what they think. It is what
God think and feel about you. That is all that matters. God Bless
you.

Whoever said those ugly words to you
surly didn't know what bright light shines
within your creative heart and soul........
though the pain is still there shield it with your lovely smile
Love & Peace be with you

Karla, you are a beautiful person, inside and out; to heck with what others may think based on appearances alone ... their loss ... sad .... I see you as perfect; I see you as God sees you, and God doesn't make junk!! Well done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :D

This book has been eight years in the making. It is mostly a jumble of thoughts written down in old spiral notebooks and hidden in the bottom drawer underneath various manuals for software packages and hardware long since turned obsolete.
