"I'm taking out the dog," the man said
As his wife washed up at the sink
But his intentions were not very admirable
'Cause he was sneaking away for a drink
He pulled the small Poodle into the bar
And quickly ordered a cold beer
"I'm sorry sir, you cannot be served
We only allow guide dogs in here"
So he tried many bars along the road
But the answer was always the same
So he sat on the sidewalk, head in hands
This Poodle was clearly to blame
His friend came along, asked him, "what's wrong?"
And the man he explained of his plight
"Don't worry my friend, I'll fix this all up
This pen knife will see you right"
His friend pulled a branch from a nearby tree
With his knife stripped the bark straight and white
Then he gave him a pair of sunglasses to wear
Said goodbye and walked into the night
So sunglasses fitted, white stick in hand
He re-entered the bar at a pace
Where now he was served, time and again
Soon he staggered all over the place
But the barman leaned over the counter
Said, "There's something I didn't realize
I thought guide dogs were like, Labradors
Not a Poodle that is so small in size"
The drunk man he staggered back from the bar
White sick waving for everyone to see
Sunglasses half hanging off his face, he slurred
"Why what in hell did they give me"
