Easter

For those who believe in Christ,
I must say, Easter is a very special day.
For most it is a time, of hope, faith,
and new beginnings.
A whole new life, which has no ending.
It was on this day, Jesus rose from the grave.
His love for others made him brave,
to endure all that pain and not try to flee,
to make things better for you and me.
He ascended into Heaven to sit by his father’s side.
So they could look down on us with love and pride,
and to always be there as our guides.
Because we believe in his great power of healing,
we should accept it and be willing,
to sing his praises for the rest of our days,
and follow in his spiritual ways.
He was a teacher, a healer, a friend.
He died on the cross to forgive us our sins.
Through his mercy new life begins.
With our children, his resurrection we celebrate,
just as God did when he welcomed him through the pearly gates.
The Easter bunny represents spring, new life, and special things,
and to our children, colored eggs, candy, and fluffy toys he does bring.
The bunny, eggs, and playful times, are a way of letting children know
this is a special day.
As they get old enough to understand,
they will realize it is a day celebrated for Jesus,
the savior of man.
