"It's been too long since I spoke up
But now I have something to say
Your leaders have really screwed up
They're destroying the U.S.A.
"But I must tell you the whole truth
They haven't done it all alone
Each and every one of you
Has helped in destroying our home
"If you care only for yourself
If you don't care where something's made
Then you're not a true patriot
And now our economy's paid
"Citizens losing jobs and homes
You, my friends are the ones to blame
Don't point only at Washington
You need to hang your heads in shame
"Bring my old slogan back again
The one made famous years ago
In World War II it saved many
And this is war I'll have you know
"Yes, my friends, Uncle Sam wants you!
But this time in a different way
FELLOW AMERICANS, I WANT YOU
TO BUY WHAT'S MADE IN THE U.S.A.
"Let me make this perfectly clear
For there's no logical reason
Not buying 'American made'
Is the same as an act of treason
"If you want to save your country
Then listen to your Uncle Sam
For buying American is
The common sense stimulus plan."
Great reminder Paul of the price we have paid for going after goods Not made in the USA.
Although the economy is trying to make a com back, there are still too many of us who selfishly buy those things produced across the waters.

Uncle Sam knows what's best. It's getting harder to actually find USA-made items. I bought a box of toothpicks at WalMart, and then discovered they were made in China. I hated using them. After a while, I bought my usual brand at the grocery store, feeling relieved to have some I could use and not worry about what I was putting in my mouth. Read the label later, and was upset when I read "Made in China." It is so widespread that I am sometimes caught offguard.

I agree 100% that buying American will bring back jobs that Americans desperately need. However, we are ever more dependent on the world economy that cannot be denied. For what happens to the world happens to the USA, like it or not. Patriotism has its place, but the world faces bigger problems than those we have in the United States and they will continue to haunt us until we save the entire world and not just ourselves.
