He hauled my riding mower in his truck
and unloaded it in my lawn.
His friendship was a result of great luck
and nothing I should claim with a yawn.
He had helped me many times before.
He was always there when I had a need.
It seemed to be a joy and not a chore
and an important part of his life’s creed.
He helped at times he didn’t feel good
and when he had troubles of his own.
He didn’t help because he thought he should
but it was more like good seeds he’d sown.
He said he felt good helping others.
It made him feel all warm inside.
He liked to help sisters and brothers
and it was easy to see he hadn’t lied.
Joy in our world comes from guys like him
who pay forward whenever they can
not allowing people to sink or swim
but sharing his help to other men.
He has blessed my life in many ways
and set an example for me
to follow as I move through my days
so I can a better person be.
Cheers to you for having such a friend,
Dan
I have always been strong and independent since I was about 10 years old. Whenever I see an opportunity to help someone, I just do. I don't go around asking for money for people or trying to get others to help them, I just help them. It doesn't affect my life in any way but it does affect those I help. As for critters, We can't give Mr. Ed enough credit for what he does on a daily basis.
