O’ Malley’s Gold
O’ Malley was feeling very proud of himself by getting his gold back.
His ole’ blarney tongue hasn’t lost any of its magic or tact…
It was like taken candy from a baby and his gold was safe and sound.
Right by the rock he was sitting on, safely in the ground.
As O’ Malley was sitting there, that little waif again appeared.
He was ready for her this time; he had nothing more to fear.
She came up and sat beside him and gave him a little smile.
Not too many words were spoken between them and she was there awhile.
When she left she said, “You’re a silver tongued Master O’ Malley.”
What are you going to do if the town’s decide to arise and rally?
“OH, I’m not worried about that greedy lot for I am superior to them.”
“Let them bring it on and I’ll outwit them again and again.”
She knew his gold was close by for he would not leave his rock.
So she had to be cunning and wise with every plan she’s got.
She spent all night in secret by painting every rock she found.
Turned them into a beautiful gold the most beautiful gold around.
She put them in a humongous pot the largest you’ve ever seen.
Then she went to find O’Malley, to watch this Leprechaun turn green.
When O’Malley saw her with her ton of gold displayed.
He was eaten up with jealousy, for all her gold he craved.
“What do you plan to do with all that gold my little waif?”
“I plan to give it to the town’s people, to put in a giant safe.”
“So they will have riches far beyond anyone on this earth.”
She could hardly keep a sober face, she was bursting with such mirth.
“Why would you give those greedy ones all that gold you have there?”
“I could do so much better with it, if it were safely in my lair.”
“O’Malley you have all you need, for I have seen your stash.”
“So mine goes to the town’s people, for all they have is trash.”
“Wait a minute young Waif; I have an excellent idea for you.”
“What if I give them back my gold, it’s something I want to do.”
“Then I could relieve you of this burden for gold is not your desire.”
“And you can go to find your mate, and children you can sire.”
“You’d do this for me and the town’s people, I miss judged you so?”
As he exchanged his gold for hers, he had an easy time lettin go.
He made sure she was gone before burying his huge stash in a safe place.
As he placed the huge pile of Gold in the hole, he had a huger smile on his face.
“She never knew what hit her, leaving with such a tiny bit of gold in her arms.”
“Oh’ that dim-witted waif, my blarney tongue had her under my irresistible charms.”
