Trembling air rises to cloudless skies Where the torrid sun skims the earth Shadowless planes besiege my eyes While my mind blends with the dearth That infiltrates each fiber of my being My tongue crumbles inside my mouth While my eyes stare without seeing And my body wanes to the drouth
Fleshless bones and fissured skulls Decumbent in blizzard slain ashes Wrecked and scattered bare hulls Underneath dim echoes of clashes Of arms, of tempests and quakes That loiter in a sullen atmosphere As symbols of the fatal mistakes Of those who once bristled here
The final change has taken place That began in the heart of man The tragedy of a hallowed race With a task it didn’t understand And a burden it could not bear I stand on the ruins of a world Too wrecked to utter a prayer Abiding a spell furiously hurled
Upon deciding to return to report That no proof of love I discovered In this barren and broken resort A sudden squall of air uncovered A riven and burnt part of a letter Saturated with love and emotion Its message made me feel better Mankind must have had a notion
You have the inner eye of wisdom...you see the other side of our fatal march forward and yet...you still find love. It is the positive of you that charms the in between. Your hope and faith is addictive and ,if you will...keep it coming. Your energy for living is the doom you predict. You have th final call and still...it is your belief in love.
LETTER serves both as a profound testimony against the chaos that humanity continues to heap upon its own collective head and as a documentation of the enduring spirit and presence of love that continues to give life meaning. Who knows but that centuries from now this could be the communication that some desolate soul comes across and reads to reignite his or her own faith in love, and in doing so, pass that spark on to lost tribes of others.
