This is dedicated to a special man who caught my eye during the beginning of 2007 and still has many pieces of my heart.

I see you from across the room.

I long for your touch.

As I gently step towards you, my thoughts circle around how much you mean to my life.

I'd adore it if this weren't a dream.. if I could have just one dance with you.

I would wrap my arms around you and rest my head on your shoulder.

I'd feel the magic.

I'd feel your love embracing me.

For that moment, I would give anything.

To feel the wind swaying through my hair and wrapping us up in a cool whirl of passion.

I'd place my right hand in your left.

You'd twirl me around the room and catch me in your arms so gracefully.

After several moments I'd take my head off your shoulder and look deep into your eyes.

You'd smile and I'd melt like hail in a rainstorm.

I'd then plant a little but meaningful kiss on your cheek.

All I'd be able to hear in that moment is my heart, beating just for you.

I'd look beyond your shoulder.

The rain pouring down on the fields.

I'd take your hand and we'd run outside like we're little kids once again.

We'd stop running and begin dancing in the rain, this time closer together.

We'd both feel the love between us.

But we'd both know you'd better be getting home.

I'd know my heart will break.

As a tear rolled down my cheek, I'd hold you like I never wanted to let go.

You'd tell me I'm beautiful and that you'll miss me, but we just weren't meant to be.

You'd release my hand and start on your journey home as tears streamed down my face, for I'd know I'd never see you again.

This would be our one yet amazing dance...if only it could take place.

I'd watch you walk until you disappeared, my heart breaking one part at a time.

Just like that you'd leave a part of you behind, my memory of you.

Just one dance.

One night to prove my love for you, even if it couldn't last forever.

Just one dance.

I would feel alive instead of so dead inside when I saw you.

Please angel, give me that one dance.

Once again you express your sentiments honestly and in a very real sense, Kathryn. Your readers (myself included) cannot help but be deeply moved by the intensity of your expressive words. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love, peace, and best wishes,

"Just One Dance" personifies the unbridled feelings of a young woman struggling with the issues that confound even matured beings.

Young Kathryn D. recites what we all have felt with her final plea: "Please angel, give me that one dance."

Dear Kathryn, for me your work accomplishes the aim of all serious writers: Your words touch my emotions and pull at my heartstrings.

Wonderful!
