This is one of my lyrics that got an awardicon on writing.com and it is published in my book Soundtrack of My Life:Volume 2

Poem Artwork

  ANGEL
(July 30, 2007 & November 14, 2007...)

Inspired by "Gloomy Sunday" as performed by Heather Nova

This lyric is included in my book Soundtrack of My Life: Volume 2

I look out the window in search of you
Watch the falling leaves floating weightlessly
And the time like a turtle crawls slowly too
As I envision you walking here endlessly
You are here

You are an angel
Hanging above me
Gracing me with your essence
Day and night
You're my protector
Here beside me
Guarding my existence
So I am alright

The rose bouquet you have given me
Still hangs from a vase dried and withering
The petals are scattered like ashes here
And the memories I hear them whispering
He is here

You are an angel
Hanging above me
Gracing me with your essence
Day and night
You're my protector
Here beside me
Guarding my existence
So I am alright

All these things in my path that remind of you
Only give my heart yearning to join you
To give up my last breath so I'm close to you
So my soul that breaks can now link with you
I'll be there

I'll be your angel
Hanging above you
Gracing you with my essence
Day and night
I'll be your protector
Here beside you
Guarding your existence
So you are alright

And when our fates align
And I'll be there with you
We'll be angels together
We'll be linked here forever
As it was meant to be
Me and you

We'll be two angels
Hanging above them
Gracing them with our essence
Day and night
We'll be their protectors
Here beside them
Guarding their existence
So they are alright

I really like this poem and the way you started off with your feelings of being their alone. Then joining up with them and becoming one guarding all in the end. I love these kind of poems. I am a lush. Excellent!!

I can see why this got an award, but you must've sent it to qualify. YOU KNEW IT WAS GOOD and it is a hit! I almost wish I could set it to music but it looks like you have that already (and it is a bit long for that)I LOVE the shifting POV... deep and intense and I think you must have based it on a real experience--sadly tragic but positively attractive in making beauty out of death...

This is very sweet and romantic. But it also has a message too. My poem Angels We Have Heard On High that I wrote for this last Christmas is similar to this but different.

You have captured the beauty of the angels together with a sweet romantic undertone, and I like the soft gentle tone too. Thank you for sharing. :-)

May the Lord Bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and walk by your side. With love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your den sister Barbie

I think this is a fine song, Lena. I do not know where I'd be today if angels had not saved me from "bad happenings" along the way. I notice you wrote "leafs" instead of "leaves" which is the usual plural form of "leaf." Is this intentional? Thank you for sharing your gifts and talent. Love and best wishes,

Regis
