Sophia’s Lullaby

O’ little one, you’re a wonder created with God’s love;

your gentle smile fashioned with the same great care

as the starlight, twinkling high up in the sky above,

and moonlight, silently dancing in the cool night air.

With a colorful rainbow turned upside down for your bed,

a quilt of silken moonbeams covering so you won’t cry,

and a soft billowy cloud ‘neath your drowsy head,

restful sleep awaits you while angels sing your lullaby.

It’s bedtime now; so close those big, beautiful brown eyes

for some cotton candy dreams, o’ precious little one.

All earth’s noise will hush, except for your soft, sleepy sighs

so Sophie can slumber away until the rising of the sun.
