I guess they need an enemy, someone to exploit, someone to shame blame,
for all the ire they can’t defeat, within themselves, in their name claims,
to prove they’re better than they are, simple people, like me you see,
no more, no less, we all are dressed so wrapped in their firm envy
of who is what and why they’re not and are allowed, by some god endowed,
I guess they need an enemy.
It makes no valid sense to me, those who need an enemy,
the harm they do, the untamed shrews, for their own lack of decencies,
the good they shun, the lives they raze, only out of their mind’s rage,
believing they have not to care, for others who would never dare,
to cross as foe, their shallow souls, to save their own all alone,
I guess they need an enemy.
To be the gods they must defeat, to cripple the humble and the meek,
out of their humanity, pursuits of love and sojourned peace,
destroying family, destroying friends, their agendas their only rend,
they must insist, they snidely declare, they must create others despair,
from their own lack of worth, you see, their lack of facts and honesty,
forgoing you, forgetting me, I guess they need an enemy.
