(A shadowbox poem)

So many are the wondrous things,
That Grandma’s seem to do.
I can think of many,
But here are just a few.

They are always right there for you,
Anytime you need a hug.
And when you spend the night,
They tuck you in all nice and snug.

They always tell you stories,
From the times they were your age.
And when they read from storybooks,
They let you turn the page.

She likes to make you cookies,
As she sings your favorite tune.
If you are nice and help her,
She will let you lick the spoon.

These are just a sample,
Of the memories I’m fond of.
Each one a precious gift from her,
Wrapped up in Grandmas love.

My Nana on my Mothers side is the utter salt of the Earth. She had nine Children…and there is not a Soul on this Earth that has my admiration more than she. It was from her that I got the nickname “Dani” from…Her reasoning…”Danielle is just tooooo fancy” lol
Beautiful writing and flawless rhyme Jack I love it, but then I love all your poetry.
Ty, Dani.
