"And yet we still are not afraid / Nor shall we ever be for we are free / To feel what is real"
Transcendental Sonnet #1349: To Feel What is Real
for Jill Eisnaugle
We have been deceived we have not been believed They told us lies but failed to realize That our hearts trust and are not covered by rust Like their own We are real And we feel What it is like to be betrayed
How much it hurts to be alone
And yet we still are not afraid Nor shall we ever be for we are free To feel what is real To feel what we feel In all its true color and intensity Come let us be: come feel what is real with me
