The question of sin has vexed humankind For every day of our thousands of years So much that some have now left it behind Yet sin remains real still causes real tears What is sin? It is nothing more nor less Than pride and ordinary selfishness As briefest expressed best and worst: "Me First"
We wonder why some people need to be Better than we are although they are not
But then we remember that vanity Which is the pride and selfishness of sin And having remembered what they forgot We can understand their hearts and begin To purify our own left here alone With all of the rest of humanity Who say "After You" in community

Who say "After You" in community' ... this is a wonderful poem and message Dear Steven! 'After You' is our progression from 'Me First' ... when the wider world is embraced and the pride and selfishness of our little egos pales and diminishes in comparison to our Real Selves ... which includes you, me, and we!! The world is Us! May 'After You' grow and grow!!

This is an excellent poem, plus the message is profound. If only people acted by taking into account the impact of their actions on those around them the world would be a much happy place to live. Unfortunately, that is not the case. And so people who are conscious of those around them must also take into account who might be trying to abuse them.
