We live our lives
in certain ways
in the past it was on certain days
now such days are more by choice
than ordained by men in black
or those with fancy hats.
Still we meander on certain days
like in the UK when banks take a holiday
even creation of a date of birth
to bring forth gifts from shops

as well as mail order on line
as well as much mirth that shines
all on certain days.
You cannot park here on certain days
though logic is never fully explained
just on of those things
that roll on for years
become like the extinct need
for Maunday Money
still handed out on certain days

that comes around again and again.
On certain days the trains do not run
replacement buses are put on
the same as on certain days
when cones in roads appear
yet no work is in progress
no one is there
on certain days.

So we live our lives
around these certain days
and we obey
in certain ways,

certain that they remain intact

like leap year.
