"Slip Away"

As I walk along this shoreline

I see my life slip away…slip away

Like the dark cloud above my head

With every breath that I take

New fear still awakes

Taking this route alone

Walking away from this place called home

There will be no return

As for now this heart does not yearn

To float or embrace death zone alone

This shallow life filled with nothingness

Wallowing around in this dark abyss

Where there is no thrill or fun or love

Just running from booze and abuse

There was a time when life was fun

But for now I rather face the gun

For the bullet through my heart

Torn my life apart

I’ve been walking in darkness for years

And see life slip away…slip away from me

Like the dark cloud above my head

There will be no return

For a new life to begin

A heart needs to yearn for love

lovely, well written ....Tinka
though sort of dark

Is that you Tinka?
Is that John Waye?
Still looking for the lost Horizon
as the ocean tickle your tootsies
on the soft sandy shores?

William ...love & peace

Tinka, very painful read. Hopefully your feeling are temporary and fluid and will pass and bring you into a new day. The world needs your smile.

Love always gives life to hope. Worry not if the trail you follow in life has been muddy. Firmer soil, and beter days, are always a heart beat away

Tinka:

This one speaks of hopelessness and despair. I hope this is only a poem you write. Very touching emotions indeed.

Now dem dere iz some true words, girlie. What a dark write. But I don't know, if I had the figure of that woman in the picture, I think I 'd be feeling just dandy. ;-) Time to hit the gym. ~~~Nordette

Tinka for heaven's sake! Are you trying to make us want to slit our throats? FIGHT BACK girl!
Life is what you make it and you're not doing anything about it.
Get the hell out, and make a new start. Nothing can be worse than it seems for you at the present, so why not give it a try?
Sorry, but I'm not going to pussy-foot around like these other reviewers are doing!

Tinka,

A grand rhythmic poem that is 'charged' with a deepness flowing from the soul - a sadly beautiful write!
