“Blow Your Trumpet”

Before these eyelids close each night

You fill them with so much rain

What joy is there to gain?

Listening to echo sounds

Of pain deep within

What happiness does it bring?

I ain’t no puppet on a string

Nor am I a heartless thing

Your trumpet blow for war

As I walk out that door

All I ever hear from you

Are insults…more hollow dark words

From a tongue filled with flames

Joyful and free from any blames

But until end of times... hear my last request

Now you may close your eyes

And feel the rain

Blow your trumpet of war as much as you like

And see what joy there is to gain

When these eyelids close

To be free from pain

Tinka, I just finished a course on Economics. The one thing I learned
that I'd like to tell you about, as you might be able to apply it to your personal life, is the concept of opportunity costs. When you apply the opportunity cost to your decisions, you take into consideration what it costs you to not do something, or what would be the cost paid, or saved, if you were to do something else. There are always opportunity costs. Hope that helps, great poem, as always.

Take care. ~ Sara

well done, Tinka...emotive, flowing with raw emotion. Wars are fought on many different fronts. I believe you have captured that here very well.
