I watch the darkness falling down And the hills withdraw their shadows And the sunset like ochre reddens in color The swallows are at rest for the night The sea breezy still and silently whispers Above me there are mad bats flying around Now that the lights are lit I fear the lurking thieve of my heart Who seek its prey like a cruel hunter Here there are no grass just longing And the dust from the lonely dirt road It looks like smoke in drifting skyward Here are no rivers to shelter my wounds Or to harbor my flowing tears There are only other people Jostling home from labor Herded by dusk together For days I have been waiting And you did not come What happened to you Where have you been all this time My heart is breaking into million pieces How can I handle this Is this the way it has to be How could you do this to me My eyes are searching for you Every pedestrian or stranger Or even a traveler a maybe… that’s you But no one see you walking in my mind Are you here or are you that far away Maybe that’s why I can’t see you here Without any shadow of doubt You do live within my heart Forever and for eternity Like a shadow You cover Me
LIke a shadow you cover me- VERy Intense Poem Sweet Tinks- I can see so much in it, through your eyes- "FEEL no pain my friend- Let Peaceeee come in" Let it stay awhile and bring back your smile! I hope this is written only in your minds -eye- not a reality piece- Happiness you seek- Happiness you shall find--- Sweetly&Peacefully,Sheee
your writes are always so visual, and i like the traditional poetic aspect that you work into them, re metaphors and analogies...i think it's about the journey, in large part, and the shared trip, how we can relate to each other through each other's words and feel the same, universal feelings that run through us all.
Your yearning is palpable in this poem Tinka...Beautifully expressed!

Tinka, a wonderfully penned poem of love on hold. Where everything around the narrator is beautiful but it does not register as such, only the yearing of a shattered heart.
A sad longing for what may have been and a sadder quest for somthing that cannot be. Bittersweet memories that cannot be let go until another love can conguer the past hurt.

Well worded. flow is excellent, and your presentation on the page added to the poems impact.
by the way, have you ever heard Jim Reeves sing the original version of "Four Walls"? Wiili Nelson did a good job also.
