Pierced Heart

I am trying to wing
My way into your heart
Through the dirty air
Of gossip and spite
Hate the harbor of it all
I am so tired
My plumage
Ruffled and stained
From me brushing
With the world
My eyes filled
With tears of dirt
But I am still pushing on
Piercing my heart
With your silhouette
Angled gracefully
The last remains
Trying to resolve
My wordless pain
I think I deserve
Something better
Than telling my tale
Could have done
Through the dirty air
Of gossip and spite
Hate the harbor of it all
I am so tired
I am done
Going

Well said. I can't stand cheap talk and gossip, but it has more affect than it should on things. You definitely deserve better.

Life leaves us without choice but to continue being the squeaky wheel. Otherwise if we were the quiet one, nobody would even know we exist!

Great write Tinka!

Bittersweet regrets make for memories to savor when we are older, you did this poem justice and it rang with truth.
