The weather channel tells us of two storms out in the Gulf of Mexico heading inland.Last year at this time I ran a gallery at St. Armand's Key near Longboat. I have many friends and relatives in the Brandon/Tampa area. I wish them well.
Although I love a fierce storm, it proposes great danger for man. I can't help but love the passions it carries.
There's nothing like Mother nature's power plays!!!

You sense when a great storm approaches
It rambles and shakes from the floor
Feels like horses stampeding
Just nature marching once more
The awesome drips that are speeding
Like bullets when rain hits the roof
Its hard to quiet your heartbeat
When drops are like horses hooves
They seem to be chasing their shadows
The shadows being the clouds
The darkness of forces approaching
Thunder that threatens...out loud
Flares of natures ambition
Feeding the earth with such force
Spears of light...ammunition
Threatening us all on her course
Marching like Sherman she broaches
The marshes that lead to the sea
Afterward calming her creatures
The animals, birds and then me
The calm after she leaves us
Its heaven smitten with greens
Limes and colors of emeralds
Washed over and smelling so clean.
Susan, this magnificent composition, is just bursting off the page with rich, powerful imagery and the awe inspiring and utterly frightening visuals as Mother Nature herself as she approaches. Yet, it has the calming affect of her wonderful glory and scent after a violent storm passes by and scrubs the earth. Absolutely a brilliant piece of work my friend! Thank you for sharing your remarkable talent.

Storms do clean up the ravages of mans supposed dominance over Nature...you have clearly described how Nature does feel herein, Susan, seems that the rain is heading north towards NJ to rain on the parade for this coming weekend!
