A two minute poem is how long it took me to write it. I don't have many of these but, when I do, the spontaneity always seems to make it better to read.

The First of Spring...a two minute poem
The sun filters through Spanish Moss to chase the chill away
Then shadows of a derelict cloud cedes to golden rays
Spring has blossomed once again, when new buds open up
When little fists collect the smiles of yellow buttercups
The valley's green in lime array seems like a mattress soft
When picnics lay all sprawled out and kites flip aloft
When cabin fever's just a thought and rosy cheeks attest
That Spring has sprung and brought with her all her very best
Colors and aromas, brightness for miles and miles
Energies all bared and tanned with laughter and wee smiles.
Brilliance captured in two brief moments will linger much longer in the head...beautiful capture of the gentle side of Spring. Those in the Southland are seeing her darker side, what with all the tornadoes...hope you're safe, (((Susan))). Well done!
Reading this ray of sunshine reminded me of the impromptu moment when my sister and I stopped by the road side en-route to Munro climb. We got out the car to savour the sight of new born lambs, buds on the surrounding bushes, the frangrance of heather, the clear blue sky, sound of birds, feel the gentle breeze, and the melody of our conversation. Spring filled our being.
Fresh as a Spring breeze, Susan...I'm with you, ithink some of the things that come to us in a flash are representative of our best. I adore this one.
